Mobility Road Show
In June I went to the mobility road show at Donington Park. I heard about this show from members of my MS group.
I went to the show with a friend who was not disabled but who cared for his mother before she past away. He and I were very impressed with the equipment on the market to help improve the quality of life for disabled people like us.
This year was the first year that two shows were held, one at Donington Park and one in Scotland.
At the show I learnt that if you possess a mobility trike and you want to take it on holiday with you, by plane, you can only take GEL batteries. These are heavier than normal batteries but if damaged they do not leak acid. For obvious reasons this makes them safer.
Also at the show they had dogs that have been trained similarly to blind dogs, but to help disabled people acting like a helper. They seem very impressive.
